So I’ve seen the show White Collar around, but never thought it would be something worth watching until a blog I visit quite often just raved about it. Curious, I found some time to take a peek at the Pilot episode.
I enjoy great caper-like robin hoodesque shows; Leverage is a great example of that. I also enjoy detective and crime solving shows; look at all the CSI I watch and honestly, I’d watch any random CSI wannabe show if I was bored. In addition, I really like having good looking eye candy on my shows; hello Nathaniel Archibald, Tim Riggins and Eliot Spencer. White Collar looks like it will be an excellent mix of all that together.
So the premise is simple – A good looking, well known con man (a ‘white collar’ criminal, therein lies the name) helps the detective who caught him solve other white collar crimes in exchange for not being sent back to prison, so he can solve a mystery of his own – the disappearance of his lady love. In this first episode, he helps to track down an art forger trying to cash in some old bonds.
