One of the reasons I love CSI:NY, other than being a little more action packed and good looking than CSI Las Vegas, is the Danny x Lindsay relationship. DxL fans, the long wait is over. Since the flirting throughout S3 with the culmination of their relationship in the S3 Finale, and then the occasional teasing in S4 followed by Danny’s guilt and betrayal with his neighbour, we FINALLY have some DxL action in S5.
CSI is not known for its relationship portrayals. The episodes are mostly about the cases, and when we do get relationship action is is usually a secondary thing or distantly related to the case. This episode is unusual in that the case is told from Danny’s POV, and its focus is mostly on Danny and Lindsay, with main characters Mac and Stella taking a little backseat for now.
So, there is a body in the trunk of a car, and Lindsay drops a proverbial bomb on Danny.
And the Eclipse happens and all our Heroes and Villains are left powerless, what happens then? We find out what Daphne’s really afraid of, that Nathan and Peter have brotherly issues and Claire pulls a heroic moment at exactly the wrong time.
I don’t know, I’m really starting to miss S1 a lot… something about this season is still a little off and my interest is waning… or should I say being eclipsed?
An eclipse is on the horizon (re: tune in next week), Hiro regresses to his 10 year old self, sparks fly between Sylar and Elle, Claire realizes why she’s so special, and overall, sides are chosen. Who’re the heroes and who are the villains? It’s actually quite hard to say.
Doctor Who is another show of which I’ve not managed to watch an entire series since its revival in 2005. The few episodes which I’ve managed to catch have enchanted me somewhat though. I’m a big fan of fantasy related genres, as well as oddly fond of kitschy BBC productions with low budget special effects and odd monsters.
I caught this episode Blink (3×10 of the revived Dr Who) on one of my flights out. The lights were off, all was quiet as people were all turned in to sleep. And there I was, not really knowing what I was getting into, trying not to make a sound as I was scared silly throughout the episode.
This particular episode is one of my favourites, and honestly one of the scariest shows I’ve watched. I thought it was just me being paranoid, but a poll from BBC and a quick google search show that a lot of people agree that the Weeping Angels are the scariest Dr Who monster of the latest series!
What is a Weeping Angel you say? This is a Weeping Angel.
This could hurt you, really.
What’s so scary about a stone statue? It can’t even move, look how gentle and shy it is, how unfrightening it is?
After this episode, you’ll never be able to appreciate stone statues or gargoyles in the same way ever again. Read on for more about the Weeping Angels. Spoilers for Blink!
I have to admit I’ve heard great things about this show but I’ve never gotten around to watching it. It’s got Neil Patrick Harris who was superb as Doctor Horrible and overall has an interesting premise (in the future, guy tells his kids, literally, how I met your mother, though through all the dating foibles you won’t actually know which of the women is ‘the mother’) so I’m quite keen to check this series out.
I was checking out twop as usual, and the HIMYM recaplet blurb for episode 4×09 caught my eye. Slightly spoilery for those who watch the show? click below for more:
Everybody’s favourite goofy duo from New Zealand is coming back in January 2009, woot! I loved Season 1 for its droll dry humour, and I’m glad they’re coming around for a Season 2… more Bret and Jemaine love! According to this article, we’ll be seeing the duo on 18th Jan, so keep a look out for them.
Here’re the boys flying, for some reason…
And Bret in action with a ‘Sexy Flower’ (is it wearing Jemaine’s glasses??)
The boys driving around, and Jemaine wears glasses under his sunglasses…
Well this one’s not for S2, but it was hilarious nonetheless. Love the sync-ed movements, especially the head twists!
But sadly, this second season is also likely to be their last so they can pursue other things, according to this interview here, which is a tad sad since these guys are utterly hilarious. Wonder how the series will end though? Will the Conchords actually become sensations (in the show that is)? Will they end up heading back to NZ instead?
Speaking of other things, if you scroll down about halfway and see that both Jemaine and Bret have or might have upcoming roles in movies… Bret possibly in Justice League! That is both cool and hilarious. Then again he was also the guy who played Figwit in the LotR movies (I totally couldn’t recognize him there), so who knows he just might get more than a liner or two now…
Jason Street makes his exit amidst much sadness, Tami and Eric make decisions and Tyra makes a terrible, horrible decision. Also, Matt just might be getting off that bench thanks to Julie.
Thanksgiving is all about the families – the Humphreys hunt down homeless Jenny, the Archibalds reunite with a catch, the Waldorf-Rose families collide with much drama and the Van der Woodsens abandon the Basses, for now at least.
Right so it isn’t exactly midway through most of the fall season’s shows yet, but we’ve seen enough episodes to get a feel of how and where this new season is headed. Here’s my take on what we’ve seen so far. In order of which show I’m most likely to watch first if given a choice. Spoilers abound so proceed if you don’t care!
I either lost a post or totally forgot to blog about 3×07. Ah well.
I enjoy watching flashback episodes that fill in the gaps as to what happened that caused characters to act as they do now. We see the other side, sometimes it makes them more sympathetic, sometimes we see a harsher side.
In this particular flashback episode, we go back a year , right around the time that S1 began and fill in the blanks: witness the splintering of the Petrellis, that powers do run in the family and that Sylar could have been rather sweet or dead if the company hadn’t stepped in.
