CSI:NY 6×01 – Epilogue

September 26, 2009

Somewhat odd that the first episode of the season is called ‘Epilogue’, but we catch up with the team a month after we left them being gunned down by machine gun fire at the end of Season 5. Who lives and who dies, and most importantly, whodunnit? Super spoilers below!

How to write a CSI Episode

March 15, 2009

I am a huge CSI fan. Crime dramas and thrillers have always interested me, but CSI was the first show that highlighted the lab geeks, the scientists – how crimes get committed and solved over whodunnit. It was intriguing.

I’ve caught all the episodes of CSI from Season 1 to its current Season 9, as well as all 4.5 seasons of CSI:NY to date. I used to catch Super CSI Sundays on AXN which showed all 3 CSI shows back to back, which was what tuned me in to NY and Miami, but I’ve never been a big fan of Miami, because Horatio really annoys me, as does Callie’s pitchy voice, though I did grow to like the grittier New York version.

So all in all, that’s almost 200 episodes of CSI (199 now!) and just over 100 CSI:NY episodes (109 to be exact), hell that’s a lot of my life spent just watching CSI!

CSI is one of those trusty favourite shows you can count on. While new glitzy shows like Gossip Girl and Dirty Sexy Money come and go, sometimes thrilling, other times disappointing, you know that after a long day of work, you can always watch an episode of CSI and never really be disappointed.

CSI episodes usually fall back on a certain set formula, though from time to time they do spice things up with a different format to keep things interesting. Here’s what I’ve learnt, from my 300 episodes of CSI:

CSI NY 5×10 – The Triangle

December 14, 2008

After the gigantic Danny-Lindsay reveal in the last episode, we’re finally starting to see more DL action in the episodes.

In this particular episode, a weird urban legend is proven as such, lots of high-tech equipment abound, both in the lab as well as by the perps, and an old case rears its head. On the DL front, Danny pops the question!

CSI NY 5×09 – The Box

November 29, 2008

One of the reasons I love CSI:NY, other than being a little more action packed and good looking than CSI Las Vegas, is the Danny x Lindsay relationship. DxL fans, the long wait is over. Since the flirting throughout S3 with the culmination of their relationship in the S3 Finale, and then the occasional teasing in S4 followed by Danny’s guilt and betrayal with his neighbour, we FINALLY have some DxL action in S5.

CSI is not known for its relationship portrayals. The episodes are mostly about the cases, and when we do get relationship action is is usually a secondary thing or distantly related to the case. This episode is unusual in that the case is told from Danny’s POV, and its focus is mostly on Danny and Lindsay, with main characters Mac and Stella taking a little backseat for now.

So, there is a body in the trunk of a car, and Lindsay drops a proverbial bomb on Danny.
