Gossip Girl 2×06 – New Haven Can Wait

Our Upper East Siders are seniors and oddly, all headed to Yale for one reason or another. Hijinks and Hilarity ensue! Won’t we all be sad when our wild bunch all split up to go to different schools? It’s kinda hard to imagine what will happen – will they introduce new characters? Or will we see more summer vacationing?

In other news, Rufus is totally trampled on by most of the womenfolk in his life.

Serena-Blair cat fight of the year! Their egos just raged out of control, and finally Blair totally cracks and pitches her purse at Serena’s head… awesome! They really went at each other – hair pulling, purse whacking… Blair’s “OW MY HEADBAND!” was also quite classic (sneaky Serena, attacking where it’ll hurt most!). I’m only surprised they didn’t draw a crowd with their antics.

Right after the fight while picking up the pieces, it really broke my heart that they decided to end their friendship. Serena-Blair is my favourite dynamic of the entire show, noooooo! Thankfully they make up the next day and things seem to be fine, for now… They have such a complicated relationship – they love each other to bits but when they’re out for blood, everybody stay out of the way! In season 1 it was with hockey sticks and a throwdown on the pitch, this time it’s all out hair pulling in cocktail dresses. Btw, Serena looked really hot in that dress she wore to the Dean’s party!

Is it me or does that Yale dean seem kinda stalkerish to have Serena’s various news cuttings all over his desk? I can suspend my disbelief that a fantastic school like Yale would ignore grades and go for fame, but this is pushing it a little.

Another couple of friends breaking up – Chuck and Nate. Oh Nathaniel, forgive and forget. You are after all one of the three things that Chuck cares about (see: poker incident) and in his warped Chuck way, he was looking out for you! Now he’s all chummy taking the train with Hum-Drum-Humphrey. Le sigh~ Dan has a hot body! We need more gratituous shirtless Dan & Nate walking around, the ratings will surely spike!

Nate is fantastic as he’s really quite down to earth and not status conscious ala Chuck and Blair, so him being friends with HDH isn’t as far a stretch as Chuck-Dan’s jail bonding moment. Poor Chuck! He tries to help his best bud avoid trouble who ends up getting pissed and runs off with his newest enemy.

Anyway who knew Nate was so horny? One afternoon into Yale and he’s already making out with college girls… sweet~

Little J is like, 15. Aren’t there laws that she’s child labour or something? I find it hard to believe that her genius prodigy fashion acumen has earned her a place in the fashion industry so quickly and so easily. And Vanessa… oh god I see this moving towards Vanessa-Rufus, and that REALLY REALLY disturbs me (and probably Dan when that happens). Rufus totally let her sway him into home schooling Jenny!

And Lily my darling, you’re beautiful and mature with a fantastic body, but that black dress is pure Serena and a little skanky for you. Great legs though, and there sure was a lot of boobage going on in that last scene with Rufus. I wonder if this was part of Jenny’s scheme to get her way – my putting Rufus on the spot with a woman he could hardly say no to. See what i mean? Rufus completely lost this battle.

I want to see Eric’s new ‘friend’! Hope he’s cute!
